As I’ve been off work for the last four weeks its been a good test of our business and how robust it is , how dependent it is on me for it to survive and continue to pay me. Thankfully, the plans Sally and I had put in place allowed the business to carry on without too much of an impact. There was very little impact on our clients, it has created a bit of extra work for Sally but she was able to cover. Thank you so much Sally ????
By and large we’ve got through and, thanks to the wonderful NHS, it won’t be many weeks now before I’m back to 100%.
I’ve had a lot of time to think. My friends and colleagues who are business owners, a few questions for you.
• How robust is your business?
• What would happen if you and expect unexpectedly had to have some time off?
• Would your customers still be serviced?
• Would your business still survive?
• Would you still get paid?
You need to ask yourself these questions. None of us want to think about bad things happening but they do happen in life. Unusually at the most inconvenient moments.
So please, over the next week, think about what would happen if you and or a key member of staff was off for a period of time, put a plan in place, think about what you need, what would happen, how you would continue to service your customers and clients.
As always, if you need any help with that get in touch.
