Watching the news today (which I limited these days) it stuck me there are three very distinct camps ( no pun intended) on holidaying abroad during a pandemic.
One type of person is they need a holiday, they will go away because that is what they want to do and its everyone else’s responsibility to get them home if they cant and they have a right to be paid for not working when they get back. The second type is , they want to go away, recognise there are risks travelling abroad during a pandemic , they assess those risks , accept them and have a plan in place should the worst happen. The third is stay at home , maybe holiday in U.K. , don’t take any risks and wait for it all to clear and get back to normal.
I see this same behaviour in business owners. Something most owners don’t understand is as a business owner it is all your fault. Whatever happens it is your responsibility. You are the one who must take control, lead and have a plan to get you to your goals.
What type of business owner are you?
- Do you have a plan in place to reach your goals for the rest of this year?
- Do you know where you are going to get your customers from?
- Do you know how much you can spend to attract those customers?
- Or are you waiting for the Government, or the market to recover, the pandemic to pass. Are you waiting for something to happen which you can not control because its all out of your hands?
